I am walking for In The Beginning, the third track on the choral album.
In The Beginning was commissioned by Feverpitch and premiered at Southwark Cathedral.
The words – In the beginning was the Word: the Word was with God and the Word was God – have rarely been set to music, but they are perfect for a Christmas programme or liturgical service. Big choral textures are created from small beginnings, with climactic chords on God. The second half is a soprano solo singing a long, lyrical melody over rhythmic and chordal patterns in the choral parts.
