I am walking for Choir, the third movement of the Cathedral Symphony.

The first notes of Cathedral Symphony appeared in my notebook sitting in the choir of Beauvais Cathedral. It's a peaceful place, with an air of mystique. The eye is taken up the tall, thin arches to the vaulted roof – the tallest choir in the world to this day. A clarinet solo floats above shimmering strings. This beautiful melody is picked up by the oboe in a different mode, and then by the flute. A pair of horns add delicate brush strokes of colour.
