On The Radio About The Albums

You can hear I am enjoying talking to Jannie Rawlinson on Sound Radio Wales. She wanted to know where it all began, how the music appears in my head and what's behind the Cathedral Symphony.  

I don't know the answer to the middle question! I remember sitting in the choir of Beauvais Cathedral and hearing the first sounds of the Cathedral Symphony coming into my head. I remember jotting them down in my notebook, going back the next day to spend another hour sitting gazing up the tallest arches. But I can't remember how those fragments went round my head, mostly in the creative subconscious, emerging two months later as the third movement of the Cathedral Symphony.
