We gathered round the table for pasta and polyphony, starting with Thursday Night, a beautiful poem by Euan Tait capturing the beauty of music with friends – ‘...piled scores we will bring to life...with laughter, power, kindness, song...and delight in the healing bowl...with the lovely fruit of wine...’
We followed with more beautiful words from Euan in We Hear You – ‘...until our song imagines differently...music constantly searches for itself...we hear you...’
And we had to sing the Prayer of Henry VI for Berty. It is the unofficial anthem of King’s College, Cambridge, sung by the fountain after every meeting of the Chetwynd Society.
