Look who’s on the next desk at the rehearsal of Poulenc Stabat Mater – Alastair Hume! We both sang in King’s College Choir, although not quite at the same time. We’ll both be playing in the London Medical Orchestra concert at the end of the month, also featuring Lili Boulanger’s joyful D’Un Matin De Printemps. Al was a founding member of the King’s Singers before becoming a professional bass player. I’ll be playing tuba.
