Dear Musician!
I love working with you! My best work is inspired by performers, most recently Laurence Perkins and the Sheffield Chamber Orchestra. I have just received the recording of the première of Sunset At Sea. Listening to it, I am so pleased that the orchestration brings out the best in the players. Here’s Laurence reflecting on working with me..
Since then, I have been inspired by London Repertoire Orchestra (Tide, the 3rd movement of my Sea Symphony), St Giles Consort (O Sacrum Convivium) and the singers at Monastic Music Hours (My Holy Place). And just yesterday, I completed the 2nd movement of my Sea Symphony, Splash, also inspired from working with the London Repertoire Orchestra. It’s a scherzo, with exciting rhythms!
Could we work together on a project? Do you have any plans for later 2026 / 2027?
Would you like a composer in residence with your ensemble or choir? I could write something new or I have some recent pieces looking for a sponsor.
We might even be able to raise funding from the RPS Thea Musgrave Composition Grants – Royal Philharmonic Society or Hinrichsen Foundation or another fund.
Let’s talk!
Dominic
