Two years ago, I sat in the choir of Beauvais Cathedral and wrote the first sketches of the Cathedral. The same year, I composed Set Me As A Seal for a Golden Wedding.
These works have been enjoyed by hundreds in live performances. Now, they are going to be recorded, a lasting legacy that can be enjoyed by thousands.
The albums are,
Cathedral Symphony – orchestral album
Set Me As A Seal – choral album
Cathedral Symphony is inspired by architecture - the great tympanum of the West Door (Lincoln Cathedral), the rolling arches of the Nave (Bayeux Cathedral), the mystic serenity of the Choir (Beauvais Cathedral) up to the triumph of the Tower (Mechelen Cathedral).
Set Me As A Seal is my collection of Gregorian Motets, led by the wedding classic, lyrical melodies and lush harmonies. The other tracks also sing of love and spirituality – My Holy Place, Ave Verum, In The Beginning, etc.
Together, these albums will be the culmination of a lifetime, not just the years writing these works.
My journey as a composer started as an infant, making sounds on my grandfather’s piano, but I lost confidence during my student years, not comfortable composing in the aesthetic prevailing at the time. It is back now, as more performers have asked me to write – choral, orchestral, instrumental and vocal.
For me, 2026 is the year of the albums. We’ll go into the recording studio in the summer.
It’s going to be a long road producing these albums. I would really appreciate your support and encouragement.
